Hands-on activities and teaching materials

The ECOTEACH Hands-On Exercises provide teachers and educators with a practical collection of ready-to-use Environment-Based Learning activities designed to connect Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) with real environmental challenges and everyday learning contexts.

The exercises transform the ECOTEACH pedagogical framework into active, inquiry-based and experiential learning experiences, encouraging students to observe, investigate, collect and analyse data, solve problems, collaborate and propose practical solutions related to sustainability and their local environment.

Activities address topics such as climate change, biodiversity, water conservation, renewable energy, pollution, sustainable communities, responsible consumption and environmental citizenship, while remaining adaptable to different age groups, school contexts and levels of available resources. All activities establish a clear connection between STEM learning, sustainability and real environmental contexts.

Particular attention is given to inclusive and disadvantaged educational settings. Activities can be adapted to rural schools, low-resource environments and learners with different educational needs, promoting meaningful participation through collaborative work, outdoor investigation, digital tools and flexible teaching approaches.
