Conceptual and Pedagogical Framework
The Conceptual and Pedagogical Framework provides the educational foundation of the ECOTEACH Virtual Classroom. It supports teachers and educators in implementing Environment-Based Learning (EBL) approaches to teach Science and Mathematics through real environmental contexts and sustainability-related challenges.
This framework combines theoretical foundations with practical pedagogical approaches that promote active learning, inquiry, collaboration, critical thinking, and student engagement. Particular attention is given to inclusive and accessible educational practices that support disadvantaged learners and diverse school realities.
By connecting STEM education with environmental awareness and real-world learning experiences, the ECOTEACH framework aims to help teachers create more meaningful, motivating, and future-oriented learning environments. It also serves as a common pedagogical reference for the development of the learning materials, digital resources, hands-on activities, and training contents integrated into the ECOTEACH platform.
