Naturaliza – Environmental Education Project
Short description
Naturaliza is an educational project developed in Spain to integrate environmental education into the school curriculum, particularly in primary education. The initiative provides teachers with training, resources, and practical tools to incorporate environmental topics into subjects such as science, mathematics, and social studies.
The project supports STEM learning by encouraging students to explore natural environments, understand ecological processes, and analyse environmental issues through inquiry-based activities. It promotes the use of observation, data collection, and critical thinking to understand the relationship between humans and the environment.
Within the Environment-Based Learning (EBL) approach, Naturaliza offers structured teaching materials that connect classroom content with real-world environmental contexts. It helps teachers design engaging learning experiences that foster curiosity and environmental awareness.
The project is especially valuable in disadvantaged contexts, as it provides accessible and ready-to-use materials that reduce the need for additional resources. It promotes inclusive and active learning, encouraging all students to participate in environmental exploration and learning.
