Evaluation methods & tools

The ECOTEACH Evaluation Methods & Tools provide teachers and educators with a practical collection of assessment resources designed to monitor learning, participation, competence development and the effectiveness of Environment-Based Learning activities.

The tools complement the Hands-On Exercises and the Online Training Courses by helping educators assess not only what learners know, but also how they investigate, collaborate, communicate, solve problems and engage with environmental challenges. They support the assessment of STEM and environmental competences, learner participation, inclusion, digital learning experiences and the overall pedagogical effectiveness of ECOTEACH activities.

The collection includes different assessment approaches such as teacher observation sheets, competence rubrics, self-assessment questionnaires, peer-evaluation tools, reflection logs, portfolios, checklists, satisfaction surveys and digital feedback forms.

All tools have been designed to remain practical, adaptable and easy to use in different educational realities, particularly in disadvantaged and low-resource contexts. They can support formative assessment during learning activities as well as reflection and evaluation after their completion.
