AELIA
Short description
AELIA is a European sustainability education project involving Greek institutions that promotes a whole-school approach to environmental education. The project supports schools in integrating sustainability principles into teaching practices, school management and community engagement. It is highly relevant for ECOTEACH because it connects policy, pedagogy and practical implementation of environment-based learning. AELIA provides guidelines and tools that help schools move from isolated activities to systematic and coherent sustainability strategies. It is particularly suitable for disadvantaged contexts, as it focuses on scalable solutions that do not require specialised infrastructure. The project encourages interdisciplinary learning and supports the development of competences related to environmental awareness, critical thinking and collaboration. As a resource, it offers strategic value for teachers and school leaders seeking to implement sustainable practices within the educational system.
