TÜRÇEV- “Eco-Schools”

The Eco-Schools Programme is an international environmental education initiative designed to promote environmental awareness, environmental management, and education for sustainable development in pre-schools, primary schools, and secondary schools.
The programme aims to:
• Develop environmentally responsible behaviours among students
• Integrate sustainability into school culture and daily practices
• Encourage active student participation in environmental decision-making
• Improve schools’ environmental performance through practical actions
• Strengthen cooperation between schools, families, local authorities, and civil society organisations
• Create greener, climate-friendly, and child-friendly learning environments
• Promote outdoor and experiential learning opportunities
Through the programme, students become active participants in reducing the environmental impact of their schools while also raising awareness within their communities.
The Eco-Schools Programme combines both an educational framework and an internationally recognised award scheme. Schools demonstrating outstanding environmental practices are awarded the “Green Flag,” an internationally respected eco-label valid for two years.
