National Action Plan for the European Child Guarantee – Greece
Short description
The National Action Plan for the European Child Guarantee in Greece is a strategic policy document focused on improving access to essential services for children at risk of poverty or social exclusion. Although it is not an environmental education document, it is highly relevant for ECOTEACH because the project specifically targets disadvantaged schools and students. The plan provides an important policy framework for understanding educational inequality, support for vulnerable groups, inclusive education, school attendance, psychosocial support, special educational needs and access to learning opportunities. It can help teachers and school leaders frame ECOTEACH activities as part of a broader national commitment to equity and inclusion. In practical classroom terms, the document supports the need for low-cost, flexible and accessible pedagogical approaches that allow all students to participate in STEM and environmental learning. ECOTEACH activities can therefore be designed with differentiated roles, group work, visual outputs, oral participation, accessible digital content and community-based examples so that students with fewer opportunities are not excluded from meaningful learning.
